Do you tolerate weakness from a main protagonist?

Will you be able to handle it, if the main protagonist is weak?
Let's just say in some situations.

I'm cool with that, it makes them more 'human' to me

But that's not what others would want from a main protagonist.
Would you be able to tolerate if the main protagonist is cowardly?

Totally. I've met someone like that in a manga 'Boys on the run' the main protagonist is perfect definition of loser, but that makes the story more interesting

That's an unusual statement
Usually people don't like such characters and they want the main protagonists to be very brave.

Oh.. why is that?
It is mundane for me
The moment you develop an opinion, you would want your character to become the best, which ruins all the surprises.

I love it when they show their weaknesses. that makes them more relatable actuallu.

i love the narrative when the protagonist despite all his weaknesses comes out strong with sheer will power or maybe haardwork or even a bit talent. It shows that what makes them special is not what they are destined with but that is their attitude and dedication to become something great!
and that's why i love the first season of Naruto.

Isn't that a cliché thing in every shonen anime?
I don't like the display of sheer power all that much. May be because I don't like Naruto much.

True that!

That's true
I got tired of them and I never liked how Naruto won his final battle with Sasuke.

I get it lol..

and the other thing is sometimes i get tired of too much positivity. it is generally displayed in some anime like Fairy Tale.. where there is no end to optimism .. like no matter what, every scenario has a good ending. It doesn't matter how illogical it might get.
and even Naruto becomes boring like that in Shippuden.  He keeps going after sasuke.. even nagging him. and at the end both Naruto and Sasuke and become overpowerful like there is no end to it. that is super boring.

Yes that's exactly it
And by sheer will he got up, and finally Naruto won the battle.

I think it's perfectly fine, especially if the protagonist is a teen. Evangelion is all about this and I know Shinji polarises everyone but I got behind his circumstances especially with him being traumatised and abandoned. It's not unbelievable for a teen to be brave, but not wrong of them to run away either.
Shinichi from Parasyte isn't the most courageous too until something significant happens to him.

That's a good way to put it
People will be traumatized a lot and it shouldn't be embarrassing.

i don't like that at all
usually the protagonists will have to be strong. i don't like usopp because he is a coward

It's all cool man
As long as they don't make too many mistakes and mess up too many lives, I don't pretty much care
