I have been thinking about it for sometime now. Do you think people who watch anime are addicted to it?
Some people who watch anime, don't appreciate movies, drama and other things all that much.

How much would you have to watch to be classified an addict. I go through about 1 anime a week if its a short one. I've known people to no life it a lot when the first begin. But I still watch non anime stuff all the time still.

One anime a week is intense. As long as you like other stuff, I don't consider that as addiction.
You are new to anime, right? How many anime did you watch so far?

I won't deny that there are addicts out there (like a guy watching 8 different series at once), but there is a fine line between lovers and addicts.

Granted I'll take anime over anything, but that's mainly because its more visual and colorful compared to anything else. Though I have seen some dramas that are good as any anime story line (like jewel in the palace).

I don't really watch many long anime, I really like 12-24 episode series but I've watched a few longer ones but nothing like the ones you mentioned.

As for the cartoons pretty much most of them, if you can name it I've probably seen it. It is the reason I found interest in anime since I've always loved cartoons and ran out of good ones to watch so I started watching anime. But for the ones I've seen pretty much all the ones made by fox so The Simpsons, Futurama, American dad all ones like this, I've also watched a lot of adult swim ones as well. I use to watch a lot of ones on cartoon network and stuff like that as well but not as much anymore.

I see. Long anime tend to offer, character development, plot and many other things. Twelve kingdoms got some real character development in it's story.
I recommend you watching them too, but it's up to you. I believe 12 episodes is just not enough for character development.

Well its likely I will start one eventually since I've watched a lot of long non anime and enjoyed them a lot. Just not something I'm interested in right now.

Last year, from like June to October, I mostly watched movies and tv series, and I wasn't as much into anime as I'm now. When I started to feel like I was getting tired of it, I switched to anime. I'll switch back when I get tired of anime, and so on.

I see. That's actually good. People doesn't have to stick to something

Yeah, plus, I'd say I'm probably more into those than anime. Not that I don't love anime though.

I don't think that. No one would appreciate being addicted to something. I watch anime for hours but I am not addicted to it. I could do without anime too

I don't think watching anime are not addicts. They are not addicts but anime lovers. There is a line between liking and addiction.

Normal stuff comes under? Is liking movies, cartoons, tv series is all that is to do with normal? Anime is also normal too. Otherwise, that would be a biased opinion

Of course it can become obsessive, as with anything.  For instance, I like computer 3D art models.  I can spend all night shopping for them.  In fact, if I was Elton John or something, I'd probably buy the whole store!

i think i am getting addicted to anime these days. i can't wait to watch the next episode and read the next chapters

No I don't
Addiction can be anywhere and as long as it doesn't interfere with their daily work and stuff, it's all cool.
