Do you like or dislike Mecha anime?

what do you think of mecha anime?
so what do you say to that? so is there a way to like it? what do you think of it?
 
Never actually watched one so i don't really have an opinion. A lot of my friends love them though so they must be good

They have different subgenres in mecha. Some are just giant robots fighting each other with little plot, so you can just relive being 5 years old. Others can be really big into the military/political jargon.
