Do you hesitate when trying to start an older series?

It could be because of the animation or it could be because of the story and quality.

So, do you hesitate to pick an old anime, in general?

I don't hesitate much
But if there is a better option or a remake, I would go for that instead.

I'm the opposite I'd rather pick an old series when I watch a new one they all seem the same. There are only a few good new shows a year but there are plenty of great old ones.

With time, those shows will be accumulated.
Even the new ones are good most of the time but with similar plots

Tbh the reason why the older stuff seems to be made better, is because the older crappy, or older generic shows are forgotten through the passage of time. When you’re in certain hobbies as long as I have, or longer, people shit on the contemporary stuff, and praise the older stuff, and years later the stuff that used to be considered crap back then for being new are now revered.

You’ll either see stuff that was hated then, now being praised, or go from the life cycle of: praised to hell and back, this was shit and was never good, then goat status.

I love retro series a lot. Thence why I won't hesitate to start one, even will re-watching some old series from before 2000.

Only reason I may hesitate is due to the episode count, and maybe the animation style. Some animes did not age well, or even age good at the start.
