Do you hate seinen series?

I watch a lot of sitcoms and schoolgirl shows, which are primarily seinen so I can't say I hate seinen.

it's about advanced science and technology

Psycho Pass is from Jump Square, so it’s shonen.

this is news to me
even i thought it's a psychological mess. no wonder poor star thought it's of seinen genre.

Seinen and shonen are target demographics, and the only requirement to earn those labels, is to be published in a corresponding magazine. They’re basically meaningless when it comes to genre.

MAL has some outdated stuff on there. From what I hear, the mods are pretty notorious for not updating or fixing much of anything.

I think the shonen and seinen being considered genres is a relic of the pre-Crunchyroll days of the anime fandom, where a lack of diversity in easily available shows led to a lack of knowledge.
