Do you give ratings in terms of story or nostalgia?

To be honest, I believe nostalgic anime have better ratings.

Not sure the reason and everyone gets influenced by it. Do you feel the same? Or do you give preference to rating first?
 
it's like that always
people are emotional beings and that can't run out of it ever and i don't think they have much else to look for

They both matter for me. My rating is based on a holistic analysis of whatever I watch. If it incites certain feelings in me or makes me emotional but the art and stuff aren't so good it would get a low rating and vice versa. Once it meets all my requirements only then would it get a proper score from me. I can't help it, it's the theatre student in me lol I tend to critique most things performance wise lol

it's like you are trying to understand the circumstances too before evaluating someone.
