Do you fix translations in your head?

I do most of the time.

When we watch anime long enough, we come to know, about a lot of words and phrases. What about you guys?
 
I only do it if it’s really shoddy. Most stuff I see gets into nitpick territory, or it’s like it technically means that in Japanese, but not in the context of the sentence.
 
I do something like someone mentioned above.
Otherwise I wouldn't care much about that and I will just go along with the flow.
 
Not all the time no.
Sometimes, when the story is lax, I usually have these thoughts about the original word in my mind.

Yeah I do this all the time with manga not anime...it's really crazy sometimes how far of from what is happening the translation is

i agree too
but what's this manga the translation is so different and did you learn japanese before?
 
Tbh what I see really common with anime fans with entry level Japanese (particularly if they learn phrases from watching anime) and “correcting” translations would be a word or phrase they think only means one thing, and show off that the subs were “wrong”. But then they don’t realize that said word or phrase has another meaning which was used correctly in that context.

oh my i never thought that.
you are right based on context the same word can have multiple meanings.

lol that's human nature
it feels as if you would want to prove yourself to be better than most. i used to think i know a bit of japanese.
but now knowing you from japan, i am sure i would come as that show off people. lol
