Do you find anime antagonists more interesting than protagonists in general?

What are your thoughts on this?
Most of the time, I feel that antagonists are interesting and the same goes to their background story.

those mangaka make the protagonists over-powered which makes the fans have more favorable impression towards the antagonists

even the protagonists and some of the support characters too. they have such tragic backgrounds just to make them stand out

It's easier to impress the audience with a tragic background.
If the protagonist got everything from the get go, there is no point in working hard
