Do you compare prequel and sequel a lot when it comes to anime?

and that's what people do and they will have expectations and if the prequel is good, they want the sequel also to be good.

Oh yeah. If the anime I watched was pretty good, I will compare the new one to it. Some of things I look for, is story, graphics quality, and character development. If any of those three do not meet expectations, then I won't take the sequel seriously.
