Do you call anime characters by first name or last name?

To be honest, I am not sure.
Usually I try to go with whatever version they are referred to by others. Is it the same for you guys?
 
I just go with what everyone calls the character.

It’s kind of funny in hindsight when there’s a character the entire fandom refers to by their family name, but has a sibling they refer to by first name, and nobody is confused.

isn't being called by the first name a little rude in japan, unless you are close?
that's what i heard and removing san is a crime.

We’re talking about fictional characters, not real people.
 
Getting 10k posts in list about 70 days is a lot.
That's going to be 142 posts a day. It's not possible at this rate
