Do people really care too much about genres?

Not many would want to try anything from some other genre that they are not fond of. What do you all think?

Well.. you can get an idea of what's going on when you know the genre of a series. About picking up a series from other genre.. i think it's depend on the individual

Well, as far as I'm concerned, it's what individual differences impact or influences when it comes to people making their choices. It doesn't get past that as we all have different preferences towards everything.
