Recently i drop Tokyo Ghoul because it's 'meh'. So this makes me drop 3 Seinen ini total, i thought i won't get dissapointed by Seinen but it looks like i'm wrong haha..

First dissapointment is Battle Royale. Actually the idea is brilliant, a battle royale between 42 people, interesting antagonists, and multiple perspective but naive and softie main protagonist ruin that for me, i dropped the series.

Second dissapointment is Kiseijuu or well known as Parasyte. Again, the idea isn't that bad, about someone who co-exist with parasite life form and defend the stability of human community from the other parasite. But again, softie protagonist ruin the series again but somehow i managed to finish Kiseijuu

Third dissapointment is Tokyo Ghoul. Bland. I feel like 'this is basicly just another Kiseijuu' another softie blablabla.. drop it!

Okay then.. i think i already saw the pattern of dissapointing series here, i'll be careful next time

i really don't know what to say.
i loved tokyo ghoul and keseiju. they are really good and i think you don't like them because of the main protagonists

Like i said, actually the concept is not that bad but yes you know it, the main protagonist ruin it for me. I guess i'll avoid series with teen/young man main protagonist since now

don't do that..
you who will lose many series from your list, if you do it that way.
try for a tough protagonist and all the main protagonists are tough

It's not about tough, but i like some maturity in the main protagonist. It's something you won't see in teen/young man main protagonist, usually.. even if it's Seinen, the main protagonist blueprint will same like Shonen's main protagonist, and it irritate me a lot. But then again i won't totally avoid it, just be more cautious

i don't understand it completely.
i know that you can't expect a teen to behave like an adult but that's typical.
if every protagonist acts the same way, you would get bored

Not really.. i'm on a phase where typical Shonen main protagonist look irritating and annoying. My mind and emotion already reject that kind of main protagonist so no way i'll get bored

you really wouldn't get bored?
what if the protagonist is cold-blooded killer who don't see a reason in anything?

Now you fall into same hole as star. It doesn't need to be cold blooded killer, when i said Luffy is naive she respond with assuming Luffy being smug, it doesn't have to be the opposite, all i want is normal mature character, not impulsive, not loud, not obsessed, not dumb, not naive, not childish. I found this kind of main protagonist a lot in Seinen, i really enjoy it, so i get really pissed off if there is Seinen manga that use Shonen blueprint for their main protagonist

star said it?
i am surprised and well thought out responses are not always good. people would think they are calculated responses

Yea, when i said Luffy is too naive she said the character won't be appealing of he's somekind of smug. Well.. it doesn't have to be smug, all i want is character who not naive or smug, just normal character

wouldn't normal characters get scared and do things which are cowardly?.
i don't understand this and i think you only brave characters

Geez okay i'll say it bluntly haha.. i don't like typical Shonen main protagonist

that's what i been waiting for.
now i know your preferences and i try not to recommend anything boring for you

I've seen you mention a lot of times that seinen is "mature" and "deep" and I just think it's another way of saying it's pretentious and boring. That's why I don't go in with any pre-conceived notions, vis-a-vis just reading the plot synopsis from the outset and expecting something from it and actually going along with what it really is on its merit and see whether I like it or not.

That's because in those three titles the main protagonist use Shonen's main protagonist blueprint. Lot of series are good and very satisfying for me, well in the end we can't get 100% satisfaction from everything, that's one of the message i want to relay

Maybe you should try another genre

Nope, it's good to me, from 10 titles only 3 comes bad and this genre is perfectly my taste

I see

Well then all the best with that
It never hurts to try something new though..just saying
