dishes that you came to know because of anime?

are there any good dishes that you came to know because of anime? i never knew many dishes and even though it's normal for japanese people, it's not normal everywhere. onigiri is a dish i liked
 
seems kind of obvious, but I've come to know Ramen rather well thanks to anime, along with rice balls and dumplings.

we don't call it ramen but it's a known dish to us. i wouldn't say that it's thanks to anime, that i came to know it. i will accept dumplings, takuyoki
 
Well, rice balls, dumplings, taiyaki, sushi, ramen, sakana,manju,daifuku,yakitori and many more.
They have food varieties in every anime.
Mostly it's about meat though.

Yes, i did search Chinese restaurant that serve mapo tofu to quench my curiousity haha.. it taste good by the way

isn't anime him japan? how can you get a japanese dish in a chinese restaurant?
multi cuisine perhaps?
 
There are a few but recently from sound of music Chika made something called egg and rice porridge for hozuki which I have never heard of and also in this same anime but another episode there was this dish that they had to cook themselves on their table...looked kinda cool but I can't remember it's name right now

i am very confused and i don't remember those names from anywhere
