I feel bad for Chris and I really don't get why he couldn't get into the first string but it's probably related to his shoulder injury and the stamina. He might make the injury worse for himself and he needs rest. Sawamura crying at the very end, made it bearable to see him get into the first string/starting line-up as a first year.

yes and sports people deal with injuries no matter how careful they are.
i really want chris to take rest and heal the injury completely but he couldn't let go of baseball even when he needs rest.
