Death Note- What happens to Light in the end?

One of my friend recently watched Death Note and she asked me what happened to Light in the end.

He can't go to either hell or heaven
He could have gone in the place where shinigami are...
Any ideas anyone?
 
I don't know. Despite its popularity, I haven't watched this series, but thank you for the spoilers... :hahaha:

They don't air this anime on TV in my country (not even on the cartoons channel)... I would have to buy the DVDs from eBay if I wanted to watch it... :noway1:

Light looked pretty epic when he was walking down the stair-case........So, do you think that Shinigami was Light?

Well, yeah........But, the probability is not zero........I mean, the world of Shinigami's is neither heaven, nor hell.........
 
It would make sense, since its not known how shinigami come about. But unless the creator does more on the series, we just will never know.
 
may be he died and turned to invisible dust? or he might have gone to hell for killing innocent people. i never thought of him as a good person, with his killings

using a death note denies one entry to both heaven and hell, oddly enough that a death note is worse than anything that would get someone sent to hell.

will you say that, the soul dies? then people who are killed by death note, would have met the same fate. in the end light was killed by a death note

I am pretty sure his soul was stuck into "nothingness" as Madara mentioned above.

His fate as a user though trumps over whatever happens to one killed by a death note.

his fate is one thing but being liked by a death note and getting exterminated with no trace at all is unbelievable

that's why fans believe that is how Shimigamis are born from those who used death notes.
