I really don't know how they got the name but it's kinda weird.
I thought bebop was a ship but I came to know that it can be a .....catch phrase too ;_;

the main ship name is bebop where everyone sleeps/eats/rests at. Since they are all cowboys, thats why the show is named as such to reference them all.
