Confusing main character position in an anime

This is the second time I am getting confused. First it's with ping pong the animation. Now it's with cheer danshi.
I am not so sure who is the actual main protagonist of these anime.
Anybody that far this confusion, in any other Anime?

confusing about the main protagonist itself can't be good. it would make people anxious. i can't imagine this. i will watch them and see for myself
