Can you still watch Anime if all characters stopped shouting Attack Names?

Yeah I've always thought the shouting what you are about to do is kinda dumb. If I was fighting somebody I wouldn't tell them what I'm about to do.

true but i was wondering the other day and most of the anime runs this way.
they announce they attacks before they actually attack. it's the same in pokemon, digimon.

The shouting of attacks is one of the many points of exaggeration that defines anime as what it is.

And personally, I don't think I could enjoy Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha nearly as much if Nanoha didn't scream Starlight BREAKER! before detonating the equivalent of an ICBM at her foe. There's just some kind of emotional tug there.
