Can you feel sorry for someone who hurt you deeply in the past?

I don't think you're in the minority.
I can feel sorry for people that hurt me deeply in the past and that has been used against me and everybody around me gets frustrated, so I really get the impression that most people actually wouldn't get softened when it comes to people that have been really horrible.
I think I just used to be too naïve and eager to believe people. I think nowadays I have a more detectable limit as I've found myself flipping back to anger when I detect insincerity or unwillingness to even realise how they affect others, but I still feel bad when I think of a friend that really really hurt me more than they will ever know.

I'm going to be honest with you, I wouldn't feel sorry for that person. I haven't had this happen to me personally, but I know especially depending on what they did I probably wouldn't feel sorry for them and would chalk it up to karma working it's magic.
