Can you deal with unpredictable main protagonists?

For me, it depends. 
If it's someone like luffy....who can be innocent....then it's fine.
If not, then I would get totally annoyed when people play pranks on others.

I agree with this. A story needs a certain amount of unpredictability to keep it interesting in my opinion.

i don't want all the characters to play according to a script.
twists are important and good for a story.
