Best long/medium running anime NOT based on a Shonen Jump manga?

I can't think of any anime.
All the anime which are long running are from Shonen jump mostly.

The Monogatari series is at like 100 episodes

A Certain Magical Index is at 75, and then there’s the Railgun spinoff also at 75, with the 12 episode Accelerator spinoff

Attack on Titan is at 4 seasons

Sword Art Online also has 4 seasons

Legends of the Galactic Heroes has a ton

Pokémon

Detective Conan

Crayon Shin Chan

Iirc a Professor Layton one had a ton

Inuyasha

Ranma 1/2

Then there’s several shows that have multiple series, or just ongoing that relatively nobody outside of Japan acknowledges the existence of.

Apart from the obvious ones like AoT, FMAB, Code Geass and Clannad, we have stuff like Cardcaptor Sakura(original alone), Chihayafuru, Fate series, Full Metal Panic, Magi, Monogatari, etc.

It’s based off a video game, and the manga adaptation is from a completely different publishing company. Iirc Shougakukan, but I could be wrong.

You can get licensing rights or make a deal with a publisher/studio for this stuff. They make anime and manga adaptations for video games all the time.
