As a westerner, Does your opinion on anime matter?

i am sure most of the time, anime targets only local people or do you think it's just my imagination here?

Considering we're getting original and second seasons of anime made, I'll say yeah.

I don't see why it wouldn't. Sure a lot of animes will target Japan but it doesn't mean you can't tell if something is quality or not.
I guess in some circumstances, if a series is all about tradition with a lot of jokes that could go over a Westerners head, then maybe... but I don't see that being the case too often.
