Are you biased against short anime?

like they wouldn't have decent story
or they wouldn't have good character development or anything else lol

I'm not really biased against them but it's totally true they can feel way too fast paced, and dont take time to dwell on ideas. Kinda the complete opposite of super long animes, which are filled to the brim with useless crap.
This isn't to say there aren't some really well done short animes, of course, because I'd even typically prefer them. But just talking in general.

lol but i think 12 episodes wouldn't have much to have good character development.
did you watch twelve kingdoms?
Define "good character development", also films can successfully do it in 90 minutes and nobody complains about that, but the second someone mentions 12 episode anime, all of a sudden it's an impossible task that apparently requires 600 episodes to flesh out someone's backstory. There's no in between here.

Sometimes you've got to just zone in on one or two aspects and just focus on that instead of getting overly elaborate with everyone.

Also some shows don't need character development

lol if you put it that way, i really can't say much.
i was hoping that good character developments needs lots of time and story build-up lol

You don’t really need lots of character development, as sometimes less is more. You can just zone in on the important bits and go from there.

Also what can cause the illusion of a 12 episode show not doing “good character development” could be due to a series that only adapted 12 episodes of a longer running manga or light novel. There’s more going on, but you only get a glimpse of it, as opposed to a series that was specifically written to only take up 12 episodes.

It’s like the difference between a movie that was made to be 90 mins, versus a movie that was adapted from 4 books and compressed to 90 mins.

What kind of 'short' is this? Less episode or movie? Less episode could be fun, but movie (especially the action one) most often are suck lol
