Are demographics really that important?

what about you all? are the demographics that important to you? or do you enjoy an anime, without considering them?

For me the story matters a lot before anything else. If I like the anime's story, then I would give it a try.

Based on the targeted audience interests, they will try to make a few things that interests them. So yes these demographics are important

I would say it’s more important for the creator not the audience. As a creator, you should figure out who your general audience is, that way there’ll be some consistency.

As an audience member, you don’t really need to care that much, unless you’re doing some kind of critique and complaining about it not catering to your demographic.

Well, some people consider it to be very important and I tend to agree with them in most cases because it's what helps to determine how to focus the anime for proper viewing.
