Are cheat guides taking out the fun?

I see the need for cheat guides when things are just too difficult. Nonetheless, I would want to avoid them at all costs.  However, though, it is interesting how those, "Why didn't I think of that?", moments happen when you do use them.

They are nice if I really don't want to spend a lot of time on a issue. Sometimes it could take a week to find a hard to find item.

I have never really had any problems with games where I have been truly stuck but if I did then I wouldn't mind using a cheat guide. I don't really see a problem with using one

You clearly never played a mind twister of a game like Myst. Only a mind of a saint can beat that game without using a guide.
