Any funny side effects from watching too much anime?

It can be anything.
Like using ya know, instead of you know. Or anything else for that matter. Do you have anything to share like that?
 
Ya know isn’t an anime thing, it’s pretty common in America.

A side effect of people watching too much anime, is that some people forget that other forms of media/entertainment exist, and anime is superior at anything and everything, and innovated everything.

I haven't never honestly come across a very good mature cartoon liked by most of the folks.

I wasn’t directly targeting you, but I do always find it funny when I make a comment about something annoying, and someone pops up taking it as a personal attack.
 

I do feel anime can bring a lot to the entertainment world but there are just as good shows in other areas as well. But end of the day, give me anime over most.

People do idolize a lot of things.
Anime is good but it's not the best any everything got it's own advantages and disadvantages and I do agree that, there are other stuff, which are really good, just like anime.

A lot of hobbies have overzealous fans, though the anime community does have some oddities that are unique compared to other entertainment hobbies. Or they do the opposite of what the others do.

There’s plenty of stuff they do the same as movie and music fanatics, like gatekeeping, but there are times when they do the opposite. One example would be when someone declares themself a snob.

So when someone declares themself to be a film or music snob, it’s code word for “I only watch the classics” or “I’m into obscure artsy stuff”. While some anime snobs do do that, usually you see them be obsessed with the most popular or entry level stuff.

So it really throws me off when I see an anime snob call say something like “I’m a snob, I only watch stuff like MHA, Jojo, and Attack on Titan.”

but jojo is a little weird to me. there are so many rumors saying both the protagonist and antagonist behave like they are gay
