Annoying plot in sports genre

So there is this particular plot that i strongly dislike.. when there is someone kidnap the main protagonist love one, the main protagonist play half heart, his team losing, the support characters find where his love one being held and help them, they rush to the stadium, main protagonist love one cheer on him, main protagonist get back on his feet, main protagonist team win

This is too wth for me.. ugh..

i don't think i have seen this one in major sports anime like haikyuu, slam dunk, and other sports anime
not sure which anime you refer to whitey.
