Annoying plot in romance genre

'i don't want to tell her because i don't want to her worry about me'

This is stupid for me. Most of the time this kind of plot lead the couple into more problems, but really.. in my opinion this plot is just 'ugh', i mean.. why he didn't tell her his problem and solve it together? Isn't that they are supposed to be a couple? Where is communication between couple? Are they only become couple only on happy times and fall apart when problem arise? It's laughable

I don't see this as romantic or 'noble act to protect her feelings'

If it always ends in a trash fire, or his girlfriend is pissed/sad after it happens, I doubt it’s supposed to be interpreted as a good thing. It’s like the scenes where the guy stalks the girl because he thinks she’s cheating on him.
 
lately i haven't been picking up any anime for that matter
and this is so far of my list and do you have any recommendations to not to watch in this genre, whitey?
