is it fullmetal alchemist for making that philosophers stone?

I'm going to have to say Space Dandy as I'm pretty sure the entire universe ended. If not then gurren laggan since entire galaxies were being flung around like weapons or turn into bombs.

That's like a very unique plot for an anime. I will have to check that out sometime

I haven't thought of anything like this and I don't know any anime with mass killing like that.
I have watched Fullmetal alchemist but it's not gory like you claim it to be

FMAB and maybe Code Geass among the ones I've seen. And God knows how many people Kira killed. And Bokurano also features the destruction of a few planets.

but it wouldn't be in thousands. he killed people using their names and it's different from a natural destruction

Barefoot Gen is a pretty old movie about the Hiroshima atomic bombing. I haven't watched it yet but it definitely has deaths in the thousands(unfortunately).
