By ugly I'm not talking about stuff you find to be disgusting, like in Gintama, which has a high production value, and consistently good animation. And is generally pretty colourful.
And this is why you shouldn't just assume things. Deadman Wonderland is among my least favourite anime of all time. I won't even give it a 5.
