anime or an American cartoon??

is beyblade a anime or a American production??

I used to watch it when I was a kid,so I'm thinking to rewatch it for fun.So I'm wondering if its a anime or American production
 
Beyblade is an anime,some western and oriental people are mistaking it for a cartoon because it is animated.
 
Beyblade looks anime to me. When we talk about cartoons; what are we talking about? The reason I ask is because cartoon is a blanket term.
 
The way I understand it if it's animated, even CGI animation, it's a cartoon. If it is animated in Japan, then it is anime. It's still a kind of cartoon of course but totally different in style and writing of story. I did a report on this in college but it's still hard to explain specifically. I personally don't like when someone says, "oh anime that's just means cartoons." Saying it like that just makes someone not familiar with anime think it's like something for kids, which is sorely not the case.

Many of the younger anime people I meet (I'm older than most of them) tell me if it's not drawn by Japanese in Japan, it's not technically anime. I tend to agree with them, which is why I hate when they put Marvel graphic novels in the manga section in the library. Manga being the same principal as having to be Japanese by Japanese.

That's just my thoughts on it.

Considering the style of the animation and the design of the characters, it sure looks like an anime to me. There are very few western cartoons that make their characters have that type of eyes...
 
I believe that it is anime and not American cartoon style. Just look at the style of it all and how it was design. It looks anime to me.
 
Let me ask you one thing..does it make a difference? If it us good then you should watch it..even if it's not an anime. I used to watch beyblade but not anymore.

i just want to know bro -_-....you know when i was a kid i only know one word for all pokemon,dbz,....etc that is cartoon.so i just wanted to know which is anime and which is cartoon :3

Then you should expand your horizons more.
 
Beyblade is definitely a anime, it first aired in Japan. While there are a few western made cartoons that resemble anime shows, this came out in Japan originally. I never really cared for Beyblade, I liked the toys though. xD My cousins had a few and we'd battle from time to time. :)

you didn't say what you prefer. do you like anime or do you like to choose a western cartoon over it? i would always be voting for anime over cartoon
