Anime high school characters influence

Many cool characters in anime, often don't attend any classes and they try to appear differently.
Do you think it would influence others of the same age group?

If they know what's better, they would never get influenced by anime characters alone but there are times when people died when their favorite character died .

Given Japan's very strict schooling system, I don't think it influences many outside of the NEET culture.

I suppose anime stories aren't even remotely close to real life.
