Anime as Childish

Not trying to mock the art or anything, but seriously, I'm sure there are those that knock anime for adults, just as they do video games for adults. However, though, ironically, at least for video games, most gamers are now adults (I think.). Anyway, what are good counter-arguments for these cynics?

many people believe that people who watch animated things are immature, but honestly, i think they are the ones who are immature, who judge things by the cover

I think this is a duplicate thread. As for my reply, yes people consider anime as some kids entertainment but, that's not the case with anime and it's better to ignore things like that, as they are prejudiced

this is a duplicate topic, i remember giving reply to a thread like this. i don't care whether it's childish or immoral, as long as i like it, i will go for it

Anytime someone says anime is a childish thing, I recommend them Hellsing Ultimate, Full Metal Alchemist, any gundam show or something really dark like the blood series.

Their minds change quickly.

That really is a good idea. I will try to do the same. For me, ajin, Tokyo ghoul are the real dark anime. So i would probably recommend them that

I forgot about Tokyo Ghuol, that anime really gets nasty and twisted in the middle.

I just had an argument in yaoi otaku forum, about some guy dissing us perverts for reading yaoi. bunch of bull, girls likes guys together and guys likes girls together. doesn't mean we are perverts. the actual gays are not perverts ,lesbians and others too. so, if people says these things, it's just shit and doesn't amount to anything

it's not childish
I wouldn't agree with people saying something like this about anime, without giving it a try.

Depend on the series.. it could be childish, like.. Doraemon is definitely for kids haha..

Doreamon, Shin chan, they are for actual toddlers.
The way the story is also just for them.

Yup so if we watch it, then it's childish haha.. but for shonen or seinen we actually have to watch first, just like you said

I agree too with that
Childish isn't the word I use and that's just target demographic audience.

Have anyone actually ever said you're childish because of watching anime?

Many times that I have lost the count
There is no way to say this, but they believe watching anime, after you turn 13 is no good.

They are everywhere.
If they know, you take stuff to heart, they will never leave you alone.
