Androids in Anime being portrayed as humans with emotions

do you like this?
or do you think it's not a good idea, to have those robots having real emotions. what do you guys think?
 
It's not because it's not a thing that exists irl atm, that it's not a feasible concept. Also, I think it's a good exercise n empathy, as it requires trying to empathize with someone with a distinct degree of 'otherness'.

but emotions to robots wouldn't sit well with me.

Yeah androids are a big thing throughout the series. Krillin has a kid with one!
 
I just had a thought, You're not imagining androids as like... actual robots, right? like made of metal whereas i'm picturing them in DBZ looking like humans

Appearance is a factor, of course, but in the end it's more about the degree of intelligence and consciousness, no?

'Evil smart robot' is just a trope, though. =P I like the stories of artificial intelligence developing emotions a lot more.

but the way this robot stuff is going, i will out of job soon and they can make good meals lol
 
I find it nice that Androids are given the opportunity in certain Anime's like Dragon Ball Z, the ability to express themselves as if they were Human. While I still like the emotionless Androids in TV Shows and Animes, I tend to enjoy the character more, if they show that they can act more human, than an machine imitation.
