Am I the only one who feels like there is (almost) no anime with an original story?

On one hand you’re kind of right, but it also applies to basically all entertainment. There are plenty of times where someone thought something was original, and turns out there was something else that did it earlier.

On the other hand, I know that you basically only watch one genre, so if you feel over-exhausted on one genre, you can go watch something else to get something different.

Shows within the same genre can be kind of samey, but that’s also why they tend to be categorized together in the same genre.

I think.. there is a good chance of finding originality if you look for classic series, what comes after that would be somekind of variations of what comes earlier

There are genres that are like following a script to be able to attract people and make money, but you do have a lot of unique stories, you can't make up much new things but still you can add many different spins and twists to the story.
A unique one would be Utochen Kazoku(Eccentric Family) if you show me a similar show, I'll be impressed.

The core story is the same.
So, what do you think? Do you think there are many anime which got unique plots?

From my experience and understanding about how anime are done or rather produced, there is always a possibility of the new story spinning from an old version and it's actually cool because the new release is always better.
