@Minj369 might like this. What do you think if this character? Is ghe blood thirsty? Is he a good vampire? Can he die? Will he ever betray his master? Will he ever cancel a contract? So what do you think ?
so, this is going to be long!
now this is my point of view, everything anyone else thinks is fine with me, really it is!
here we go.
i am utterly in love with Alucard! for the next reasons and not all of them are good in the eyes of... well everyone! lol
Alucard, is not "blood thirsty" like a starved vampire, because he can drink blood without killing, advancement of times gave him this option, this is also shown in "blade" movies, where vampires can thrive on willingly drawn blood, from people who donate it. but, he is cruel, and when he needs to kill his joy is visible, to all, and he will not stop until he gets enough of what he loves most,, killing is one of the things Alucard loves most, and this stems from him being originally "Vlad the Impaler" - which on his own can fill this page without even thinking twice, his murderous nature was enough to send chills down any ones spine.
Alucard, is a vampire, there is no doubt about it, but you can't categorize him as bad or good, it is after all, demanding that you would be a cruel bastard because you are the first and only real vampire unless, it's your companion Draculina.
He is above all, despaired, for all the right reasons... which i can relate, but never fully understand, i mean, who would go about living for hundreds of years, watching humanity decay, never change for the better, and always, but ALWAYS repeat the same mistakes and make them worse because of the progress we are making in terms of science and technology, and not want to die?? well Alucard does, and yes, he can die, that's the whole point, but, the "curse" is, he can only die by the hands of a human, because, that would mean that the world does not need monsters such as him anymore.
Alucard is also a beautiful metaphor to humanities never ending cycle of wars and need for monsters to rule over them. or strike fear in them, or be there to be blamed for humanities horrible ways. once humanity decides they will break that cycle, he will no longer be needed, and will probably die, by the hands of the humans that reject him.
Betraying Integra Wingates Hellsing, is of no use to Alucard, because, he is comfortable, and, he knows he owes her father a great deal, and he's repaying it, you have to see this from the right perspective, to an immortal being, humans are just a glimpse of light, we are born, and we die, faster than they can realize it, that is why, he does not really care about betraying such a being, because, he will be free of her, she will not live forever, betrayal, is not a part of his nature either, and he will be there to watch that short life, and appreciate it, because, he can never have that, cancelling the contract, is impossible, because it is a blood contract, once you create it, only death can end it.
but, we said he can die, so why didn't he? because his calling did not end, as the monster humanity needs. and because, he is bound to a contract, to protect and watch over the short life of Integra.
I guess, he was a little lonely, and he decided to have a companion, after all, Integra will die, and so will the house of Hellsing, so he needed someone, anyone, to accompany him, in that long journey, so he created Seras as Draculina, he gave her multiple options to drink his blood and leave, but she proved loyal, because, humans, tend to be loyal, to people who saved them, this brings us to the conclusion, that, Yes, Alucard, was human! and he became a vampire, which means, he's loyal.
but if you want to understand why he's so cruel, you should read about Vlad Tepes, since, Alucard is Vlad, his history, is enough to explain, why Alucard is the way he is.
and if you ask me... i would love! to travel in time, just to see, how Vlad lived his life, as an observer, just... to know, how cruel he really was, because, people like that, do not exist today, if they did, we'd be in greater trouble than we are in now, world terms, everyone, not just certain countries. hehe

no hehe i read history because i like history, and i knew about Vlad long before i knew about Alucard, i just understood from the story in Hellsing who Alucard really is. and i was already in love with Vlad, Alucard gave him a more beautiful presentation, visually, Vlad wasn't that pretty, seeing portraits of Vlad and stuff, but i was amazed by how he was, and i couldn't find a better story to describe him or a better character than Hellsing or Alucard, and yes, after all, once a human, always a human, we have the same flaws. even if you become immortal in one way or anotherClaraviolet said:O.O
Oh my my. Don't tell me you have read the entire history just to know more about alucard minj.....
still, the way you said...it's like he is the epitome of what we call perfection.
Normal humans are greedy, cruel...whatnot just like alucard

Minj369 said:after hundreds of years, some things become irrelevant... because you can't be greedy, or possessive, you have no one to hold on to, because they all just fade away, strong feelings fade away, like love... you only wish to die, this is your biggest wish, notice, that Alucard also states that it's silly that he has a dream, he never dreams, this is a horrible way to live, no dreams, nothing to aspire to, no one to hold on to... it's a sad long life.
Minj369 said:no, he plays the game that he is a pawn in, there is no harm in killing someone that seeks to kill you first, the fact that he enjoys it, has nothing to do with the frustration he has or desperation, in fact, the feeling of excitement when going to war reliefs the pain of being so empty, he enjoyed the fact that there are still crazy people, but it does not in any way contradict his main wish, he looks forward to it, because he believes he will die, now, if you are on your way to fulfill your only wish, wouldn't you be happy? overjoyed? yes you will.
Nel said:He really thinks a mere human can kill him? He must be crazy
No one can defeat him
still a secret, the Mangaka never showed or told how that happened.Nel said:Do you know how a human defeated a master vampire of noble birth? Or is that still a secret even in manga?
