Destroyer of time. That's the prophecy about Allen Walker. Okay so right now i want to talk about Allen Walker. I think.. this guy is likeable, yes i like Allen, if you take a brief glimpse at him it might be that there's nothing too special about him, but this is what i like about Allen :
Well his design is kinda plain, a boy with white hair, no special feature except his left hand but at least he's normal, i mean.. nothing too joke about him
Talk about character. Okay so let's compare him with typical shonen main protagonist, impulsive, stupid, stubborn, obsessed, childish. I only see that he's kinda stubborn which is tolerable, i can't see Allen being impulsive, obsessed and childish which is playing a big part on me liking him. His back story is not really stand out but still solid, and to be honest Allen lack development, i notice that Allen in early chapters is still the same with Allen in the later chapters, nothing change except his weaponry but it's weird that this is not bothering me so much, well.. maybe because i already like his basic character.
What makes him unique is the persona of Nea Walker on him. I think.. this is pretty brilliant because this plot have lot of potential to develop especially his relationship with Earl Millenium, a good seasoning for the main story.
Something important to take note about Allen is the principle of 'I love you, that's why i destroy you' yup he love akuma, he care about akuma, and he want to help akuma, that's why he must destroy them and free their soul from dark matter's binding. With this thing going on we will see Allen destroying akuma without hestitation, yes.. without that 'i don't want to hurt you' bullshit, the show is not spamming that boring stuff.
So.. talk about overall popularity i'm pretty sure that there's a lot of characters that above him but in my perspective he's one of my top favorite character.
