Adding a blog?

Do you think that adding a blog to a forum would be beneficial to the forum? Why or why not?

Most forums that I've seen don't have a blog on them so I was just wondering. There are a few that do have them though.

Yes, it would certainly be helpful but you have to make that you update your blog regularly and add new informative content at least once a week.

Does it really help if you write just once a week? I though at least 4 or 5 blog entries are needed for a good blog.

Having a blog would give another option for members to write their feelings and opinions. I think blogs would be a lot more work than a forum.

I think if you can make a blog, then why not?  In fact, it could be said that blog would provide more in-depth opinions due to the fact that blog posts are typically way longer than forum posts.  Also, there could be commenting on the blogs, either on the blog or on forum posts linked to the blog (or both).
