If Sabo don't show up in the tournament, Luffy might have won that fruit.
Do you think he would have give it to one of the strawhats?
 
he shouldn't have given it to zoro or sanji .. they are very powerful
and oda couldn't let others to become even more powerful. they might threaten luffy
 
have you seen anyone like black beard? and i don't think the artificial devil fruit powers lasts long for a very good battle

He is not very special but his devil fruit power is special
 
I could see Luffy doing something dumb and eating it himself :P

As for what luffy would have done, hard to say, though if someone should have gotten it I would say Nami should get it.
 
i don't remember the devil fruit power from before.
that must have been a new fruit that we don't know much of. i am curious to know more about it
