75 character restriction for forum posts

We came across a cool website having this restriction and we have decided to implement it here, to avoid low quality posts.
If you have any concerns, do let us know here

In all honesty, I think that encourages the opposite. There are times when a shorter answer is necessary.

Having the number be that high is just going to force people to artificially make it longer just to fill out the character count. So by making it longer, people can drag out the post and make it longer, by adding more nonsense thus making it even longer.

That does make sense.
Then what do you think is the ideal post restriction? We wouldn't want 'yes' , ' I agree' posts right kiddo?

Idk, maybe like 12 or 15. Something that lets you respond with a full sentence, but not a paragraph.

You'll kill the site and reduce any fun that can be had here. It's a cool setting for any site looking for quality content, this is mostly done on places that intend to eventually sell itself off. Otherwise, it shouldn't be used on a site that aims to be fun and relaxing place to chat.

It's been reduced to 25.
That includes quote characters as well. So it should be alright now

Hmm.. Ok thank you for the feedback.
It's been reduced to just 25 now

Thank you all for the feedback
Now, let's try to provide quality content and we have already reduced the goal accordingly.

I have a feeling I know where the recommendation of 75 came from. Honestly, 75 characters minimum for an anime forum is a bit much. Having it at 75 for a forum that you want to do serious discussion, makes more sense to me, than that amount on a fun anime forum. :D
