Do you think people lose the right to criticize an anime if they pirated it ?

It'd make my life a lot easier. I've never seen so many pop ups after watching 500+ episodes

Now little Billy from a less fortunate country who might have been looking forward to watching that show because he was a big fan of the manga/visual novel/author or any other reason now will find it impossible to watch this show other than through pirated means. Now according to you his opinions on the show should be considered null and void just because the company licensing it didn't care enough to publish it in countries they think won't be having good returns on investment or don't use platforms like Netflix to reach a larger audience. Even his criticism of the availability should not be a heard according to you am I right?
If they don't hear billy's and the thousands of others like him opinions how would they know why their shows are pirated in the first place and maybe they could fix it in the next series making an even better product? What about the people who just don't believe the show was worth the dvd price or the subscription price? If they want to offer a better value proposition they won't get the info just from the buyers who already were sold on the value proposition X is offering.

Doesn't change the fact that if you obtain it in illegal ways doesn't mean it gives you a voice in the matter.

I don't know if you even read what I wrote but I didn't even say they should hear their voices for story and quality related things, just hear them for things like availability and maybe pricing reasons. To which there is no downside to listening to.

Why would a company spend money/effort in an area that proves its getting something for free?

"how would they know why their shows are pirated in the first place and maybe they could fix it in the next series"

That and maybe their show/product sucks and people don't think it's worth the money they're charging. This is common sense and why companies do market research even on people who don't buy their products.
