I find some dark humor to be funny, but I usually won't crack these types of jokes unless I truly know a person. I wouldn't want to upset or offend someone, my wife likes dark humor and so does my mother in law so I know I can crack dark jokes around them.

I suppose it depends on what exactly they did. If they harmed another living creature on purpose and try to apologize, I wouldn't forgive them. You can't harm another living soul and just say "oops sorry didn't know I was hurting them!" because you know they're not sincere.
