Is there an anime with great female characters written by a male author?

sorry lol just wondering.
most of the time, they don't know how to write plot and personality of the opposite gender.
 
I'm curious about this too lol, most of them are just written in a way where they rely on male characters or act ditzy. :V Or they're fan service, that's another common thing I see.
