Can you give your bank details to your partner?

My wife and I didn't get a joint account until after we were dating for a long time. You should only give out this information to a long term partner, and if you can trust your partner.

I was married once. I did all the right things. Joint account and all. I got screwed. Bad.

Never again. If I choose to share my funds with somebody else, I'll make a shared account with trusted people, and those people need to input a valued interest (asset, money, etc) into that shared account to have access to it. But I'm a long way from going down that route, even with my current partner. We have separate accounts and it works just fine.

I trust my partner enough not to demand my bank details. We've both happy keeping our own stuff and bank accounts separated when it comes to legal stuff.
We love each other dearly and definitely see each other as long term partners so other than the legal stuff, we're fine sharing and even saving up for shared goals.
