Probably you are right.
There is no set of standard to check the anime quality and most of the time, it depends on the target audience.

I would say that's not the correct way of putting things.
If you were to say my taste in anime is bad, I would say the same about your taste, so it's all just perception like you said

I'll usually say if they have bad taste or mock their anime as a form of teasing, but never hate on a person.
